Puppy Hopes!

Today we drove 500 kilometers (310 miles) to breed Chili to Ricsi (pronounced Ritchie).  The roads were pretty awful this morning, but by our late afternoon return trip, they were much better. More snow is expected tomorrow and Tuesday, so we will probably not be able to go back for one more shot.

Chili is officially known as Gondûzô-Alkonyat Szerencsecsillag Fénye, she is brown and carries gray.  This will be her second litter, she will be 6 this summer.  Chili has MKOE ortho checks: Átmeneti hips (B equivalent), Mentes (free) elbows and patellas.  Her eyes were checked by an eye vet and are clear as of 12/2008.  She is herding instinct tested/passed on sheep and Hungarian gray cows.  She has passed two temperament tests, the CGC in the USA and the MMK character test in Hungary.  She has full dentition and scissors bite and has passed the breeding exam in Hungary.  Chili is about 45-46 cm (17.6-18 inches) You can see more pictures and information about her on our website: http://www.mudikennel.com/chilienglish.html

Ricsi is officially known as Gulakuti Hûség, he is gray merle (with well furred ears) and carries yellow (he may carry brown).  This will be his 3rd litter.  Ricsi will be 3 in August, he had his hips x-rayed in January and they will be MKOE checked  at the end of February.  He has full dentition, scissors bite and passed his breeding exam 6/2011.  He is about 45 cm tall (17.6 inches).

We hope for healthy puppies to arrive in early April.  All will have long tails.  We expect black, black merle, gray and gray merle.  There could also be brown and brown merle and perhaps yellow, white, graybrown (isabella) and graybrown merle (isabella merle) colored pups as well.

The epilepsy risk score for this litter is:  22 low (Mudi breed average is currently 44 moderate)
The COI is: 2.7% (this is extremely low)
The pedigree will be FCI/MEOE with 2 complete generations

We will ultrasound to check for puppies in early March!
