Gondűző-Alkonyat Mudi Kennel Statistics
MEOESz Bronze Awarded Breeder Since 2007
MEOESz Silver Awarded Breeder Since 2009

We only produce a litter when we
want a puppy to keep for ourselves.

Basic Litter Statistics:

Our first litter was in 2004 (year - # of litters) (# of puppies in each litter):
2004 – 2 (1 puppy; 8 puppies)
2005 – 2 (8 puppies; 4 puppies)
2006 – 2 (9† puppies; 5 puppies)
2007 – 2 (9 puppies; 5 puppies)
2008 – 4 (6 / 9† / 9 / 5 puppies)
2010 – 2 (1† puppy; 7 puppies) (+ one litter bred no pups conceived)
2011 – 1 (6† puppies) (+ one litter bred no pups conceived)
2012 – 2 (8 puppies) (*one litter reabsorbed at 5 weeks gestation, assumed HPV)
2019 – 1 (3 puppies ††)

We have created 18 litters since 2004, with 103 puppies born.

Number of puppies stillborn = 6 †
Number of puppies that died before 8 weeks of age = 0

Important Litter Creation Considerations

We think low epilepsy/seizure risk is the most important health consideration, with PCOI (Pedigree Coefficient of Inbreeding) also given high preference.

From 2020 PCOI is joined by GCOI (Genetic Coefficient of Inbreeding provided by Embark DNA testing).

From 2019, our goal is to stay under 10% PCOI/GCOI.  (Our PCOI's are calculated on every generation known which is 21 or more known generations behind every litter we have created.  (Please be aware that PCOI calculation using only 5, 7, or 10 generations is not correct.)

Our kennel PCOI average is currently: 6.97% (18 litters: Highest COI: 14.13%; Lowest: 2.71%; Majority of litters are in the 2 - 9.9% range = 15 litters; Only 3 litters are over 10%).

Our Litter PCOI's:

2004: 11.31 / 4.83
2005: 5.95 / 10.26
2006: 5.95 / 6.34
2007: 3.26 / 7.99
2008: 9.43 / 5.75 / 5.25 / 7.5
2010: 5.04 / 5.62
2011: 5.95
2012: 14.13 / 2.71
2019: 8.22 (GCOI 6%)

While health and low inbreeding are the most important considerations when planning a litter, they are not the only considerations. Breed identity is also an essential piece of the equation that makes a good Mudi. Breed identity includes temperament, herding instinct, ability to be trained to perform a task/s (biddability), good companion attributes, encased in a breed characteristic package - these are also very important.

A Pedigree Analysis Report was performed on every litter we created or co-bred from 2010 to 2019.
Mudi Pedigree Analysis Certificate - MPAC is performed for every litter from 2020. (https://mudidirections.blogspot.com/p/mpac.html)
